FOOTAGE AND SOUNDBITES OF POPE FRANCIS DURING HIS WEEKLY AUDIENCE:

“The homily should not last more than eight minutes. Because after that time the tension is lost. People fall asleep, and they are right. A homily should be like that, and this is what I want to say to the priests who speak so much, so many times and it is not understood what they are talking about".

“Go ahead with the reading of the Bible, but do not forget the pocket Bible, carry it in your purse, in your pocket, and at some time of the day, read a passage and this will bring you very close to the Holy Spirit in the Word of God."

"Let us not forget the tormented Ukraine. Let us not forget Palestine, Israel. Let us not forget Myanmar and so many countries that are at war. Let us pray for peace. Today we need peace. War is always a defeat, from day one. Let us pray for peace, may the Lord give us strength. Let us always fight for peace."
