Pope Francis calls for Palestine and Israel to be two "free" states

Vatican City, Apr 24 (EFE) - Pope Francis on Wednesday called for prayers for Palestine and Israel to be two "free" states with "good relations" between them, at the end of Wednesday's general audience in St Peter's Square.

The Argentine pontiff on Wednesday reiterated his calls for peace "between Palestine and Israel" and also recalled "the martyred Ukraine" and "all the young soldiers who are dying", Burma (Myanmar) and the other wars in the world.

1) Thoughts turn to the tormented Ukraine.... Palestine... Israel... To war-torn Myanmar and to so many other countries. War is always a defeat. Those who gain the most are the arms manufacturers. Please, let us pray for peace. Let us pray. Let us pray for the tormented Ukraine. It suffers so, so much. Young soldiers are going to die... Let us pray, but let us also pray for the Middle East, for Gaza ... There is so much suffering there in the war. For peace between Palestine and Israel. May they be two free states with good relations. Let us pray for peace and my blessing to all.
