Pope Francis appeals for help for quake victims in Turkey, Syria | Video

Vatican City, Feb 8 (EFE).- (Camera: Álvaro Padilla) Pope Francis encouraged the faithful to show solidarity with Turkey and Syria after the devastating earthquakes that hit both countries on Monday "and in a territory already affected by a long war", he said during t¡his weekly general audience on Wednesday at Vatican City.

I thank those who are working to bring relief and encourage everyone to solidarity with those territories, some of which are already suffering from a long war. Let us pray together that these brothers and sisters of ours may move forward in the face of this tragedy, and let us ask Our Lady to protect them: Hail Mary, ..."
