SPAIN ROBOTS

The new police assistant in Malaga, a robot dog that controls scooters

Malaga, Mar 19 (EFE) - (Camera: Irene Martín Morales) It has four legs, weighs about 35 kilos, and looks like a dog but has a metal heart. With artificial intelligence, this robot has been designed at the University of Malaga (UMA) to support the Local Police in patrol work, with a first mission: to detect reckless scooters.

In its debut with the police in central Larios Street in Malaga, the first of three tests planned for this year, the robot has caused as much media expectation and commotion among pedestrians as a movie star.
