Philippines highlights importance of access to clean water

Marikina City, Mar 21 (EFE/EPA).- Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) announced on Thursday that about 40 million Filipinos lacked access to a formal water supply while 74 million of the population had access to piped and potable water.

The DENR has called for a concerted effort among local government units to address the situation and ensure access to clean and potable water supply for all.

World Water Day is observed annually on March 22, to highlight the global need for access to safe and clean water. (Camera: ROLEX DELA PENA).
