Petrobras says its 3,000 offshore wells qualify it to drill off the Amazon

Urucu (Brazil), April 26 (EFE).- The oil company Petrobras considers that the 3,000 wells it has already drilled without any accident in deep waters off the Brazilian coast accredit it to operate safely in the Equatorial Margin, a promising horizon that includes a vulnerable area in front of the mouth of the Amazon.

TRANSLATION:

"I have no doubt that we can guarantee safety. That (the 3,000 wells) accredits us to safely drill one or more wells in the Equatorial Margin"

"Without any doubt (we learned the lesson). I think that any accident in the world's oil industry leaves a very big lesson"
