PERU ECONOMY

The Peruvian Government maintains the upward projection of GDP at 3.6% for 2022

Lima, Jul 14 (EFE), (Camera: Mikhail Huacán).- The Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, Óscar Graham, assured this Thursday that the Government maintains the growth forecast for the Peruvian economy at 3.6% for 2022, despite the adverse external scenario and the abrupt collapse of the international price of copper.

“I am still optimistic about maintaining this level of growth. It is an optimism based on the information we have to date on the recovery of mobility, the recovery of various economic sectors (...) and large projects that will give us a boost at macroeconomic levels”, Graham said in a conference with the Association of the Foreign Press of Peru (APEP).

STATEMENTS BY THE MINISTER OF ECONOMY AND FINANCE OF PERU, ÓSCAR GRAHAM: "It is not only in terms of stability, and macroeconomic responsibility, but also Peru, according to the conditions we have, is going to be one of the economies that is going to lead the growth of the region and that has been maintained throughout the last decades of sustained growth, except for the issue that affected us, in 2020 due to the issue of the Covid emergency, but Peru is resuming the path of sustained growth and with sustained growth greater than other countries in the region"
