Peruvian Andes, witnesses of the first collection of photographer Martín Chambi

Barcelona (Spain), Mar 31 (EFE).- In the first anthological exhibition dedicated to Martín Chambi, the Fundación Foto Colectania places his work with that of other contemporary photographers who portrayed and documented the Peruvian Andes, such as Irving Penn, Eugene Harris and Robert Frank.

Of indigenous origin, Martín Chambi (Coaza, 1891-Cusco, 1973), photographed the Peruvian Andes for years, vindicating the pre-Hispanic past through images of Inca ruins and the portrait of the life of the Andean communities at the beginning of the 20th century.
