Pakistani lawyers clash with police during protest in Lahore

Lahore (Pakistan), May 8 (EFE/EPA) - Pakistani police on Wednesday broke up a demonstration by lawyers in the city of Lahore, organised by this influential group to protest against a case of terrorism filed against several lawyers, with charges and tear gas.

"Dozens of lawyers have been injured by baton charges and tear gas," the president of the Lahore Bar Association, Asad Manzoor, told EFE.

The source said the protest was peaceful until security forces began attacking protesters "for no apparent reason" when they tried to advance towards the Lahore High Court.
