Orthodox Easter ceremony in Istanbul

Istanbul, May 4 (EFE).- Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, spiritual leader of the Greek Orthodox world, officiates the Easter ceremony at St. George's Church in Istanbul. Orthodox Christian believers celebrated Holy Week in commemoration of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Eastern Orthodox world celebrates Easter according to the old Julian calendar.
