OAS 54th General Assembly begins in Paraguay amid crisis in Bolivia

Asunción, Jun 26 (EFE).- The Organization of American States (OAS) inaugurated its 54th General Assembly in Paraguay on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Bolivia faced a new crisis following an attempted military uprising and a call to defend democracy in the region, particularly in countries like Haiti and Nicaragua.

Hours before the inaugural ceremony in Asunción, the situation in Bolivia disrupted the agenda that will be addressed by about thirty delegations between Thursday and Friday. This reminds that the region still faces the challenge of preserving democracy. (Camera: CARLOS LEMOS).
