Nuns are sought to prevent closure of convent that holds hand of Saint Theresa

Ronda (Málaga, Spain), Feb 16 (EFE) - (Camera: María Alonso) The convent of the Discalced Carmelites of Ronda (Málaga), which holds the incorrupt hand of Saint Teresa of Jesus, needs nuns to prevent the Vatican from ordering its closure. If they do not find them soon, they will have to return the relic to Castilla y León, so they are appealing to recruit two sisters "as soon as possible".

Behind a lattice inside this cloistered convent, Sister Jennifer tells EFE that just two years ago there were nine nuns in the congregation in Ronda, but after the covid-19 pandemic and several sudden deaths in recent months, there are now only four sisters - one of them with Alzheimer's - left.
