Sao Paulo, Aug 7 (EFE).- The number of indigenous people in Brazil grew by 88.82% in a decade and reached 1.69 million people in 2022, representing 0.83% of the population, according to census data released Monday.Nearly half of the indigenous people, 51.25%, reside in the states that make up the Amazon region, according to data presented by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).ARCHIVAL FOOTAGE.
