Mitrovica, Apr 20 (EFE/EPA) - Four Serb-majority municipalities in northern Kosovo are holding a vote to dismiss the ethnic Albanian mayors of Zvecan, Northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok and Leposavic, organized by the government in Pristina. On 17 January 2024 hundreds of residents in the four municipalities signed petitions to dismiss the mayors elected by handfuls of votes as turnout during the elections in April 2023 was up to 5 per cent, in the North of Kosovo. For a mayor to be dismissed, 50 per cent plus one of the overall number of voters have to vote in favor but the main Serb party, Srpska lista, has called residents to boycott the election once again.
