Nicaragua celebrates religious festival "Gritería" amid Covid-19 concerns

Managua, Dec 7 (EFE).- Nicaragua celebrated Tuesday the traditional popular religious festival "La Gritería" in honor of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, amid precautionary measures due to the covid-19 pandemic that has claimed the lives of at least 214 people since the virus was detected in the country.

Most Nicaraguans who took to the streets to sing to the Virgin Mary did so wearing masks, with social distancing in some cases, as well as the application of alcohol on their hands in the face of the covid-19 pandemic, according to Efe. (Camera: RENEE LUCIA RAMOS).
