Nepalese transgender candidates campaign ahead of local by-election | Video

Kirtipur, Nov 20 (EFE/EPA).- Nepalese transgender candidates Deepak Maharjan, known as Honey, and Rajeev Maharjan, known as Mouni, attended on Wednesday their election campaign for the mayoral post in the upcoming local by-election in Kirtipur.

Two members from the sexual and gender minority community, Deepak Maharjan (Honey) and Rajeev Maharjan (Mouni), have announced their candidacy for the positions of Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality and Ward Chairperson, respectively, for the first time.

The local by-election is scheduled for 1 December 2024. (Camera: NARENDRA SHRESTHA).
