Muslims in Lebanon prepare for Eid celebrations | Video

Ghazieh (Lebanon), Jun 14 (EFE/EPA) - Nearly two million Muslim faithful from around the world began Friday the rituals of the 'hach', or annual pilgrimage to the Saudi cities of Mecca and Medina, where Islam was born fourteen centuries ago, amid tensions in the Middle East by the war in Gaza.

On the second day of the pilgrimage, the faithful perform “Al Wakfa” (sojourn), considered the most important ritual of the 'hach'.

On the third day they celebrate “Eid”, or feast, in which they sacrifice lambs in memory of Abraham's sacrifice, before returning to Mina to collect stones to stone three columns representing the devil.
