23% of Moroccans still do not have universal health coverage launched in 2021

Rabat (Morocco), Nov 20 (EFE) - The president of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (EESC) of Morocco, Ahmed Reda Chami, warned Wednesday that 23.2% of Moroccans (8.5 million) still do not benefit from the universal health coverage launched by the Moroccan government three years ago.

The Moroccan official made this announcement during the presentation of an EESC study on the achievements and challenges of the Mandatory Health Coverage (AMO, for its French acronym), which Morocco launched in 2021 so that all its citizens have access to health care.
