Moon observation to determine the Eid al-Fitr in Indonesia

Lhok Nga, Apr 20 (EFE/EPA).- Indonesia's local officers in Aceh Besar observed the position of the moon Thursday to determine the Eid al-Fitr.

Eid al-Fitr is an Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, and is celebrated during the first three days of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar.

According to the Indonesia Ministry of Religion, Eid al-Fitr falls on Apr. 22, 2023. (Camera: HOTLI SIMANJUNTAK).
