MONKEYPOX PERU

Monkeypox is a growing threat in Peru

Lima, Aug 26 (EFE), (Camera: Mikhail Huacàn) - The Lima hospital Cayetano Heredia has gone from diagnosing one or two cases of monkeypox a day to a dozen a day in just two weeks, a reality that places Peru among the world leaders in terms of infections per million inhabitants and in which the shadow of covid-19 continues to weigh heavily.

The Andean country has accumulated more than 1,300 official cases of monkeypox, according to the latest official report, although most of them are concentrated, for now, in Lima.
