Mitama Matsuri festival kicks off in Tokyo

Tokyo, Jul 13 (EFE/EPA) - Celebrations for the Mitama Matsuri summer festival kicked off Saturday at Tokyo's Yasukuni Shrine to console the dead and ancestors during the Obon season.

The festival, an annual Buddhist event, lasts four days, during which more than 30,000 lanterns are hung on the shrine grounds.
