Minimum age increase and removal of weapons to unstable people in the new weapons legislation in New York

New York (United States), June 6 (EFE), (Camera: Justin Lane).-The governor of New York, Kathy Hochul. signed new firearms safety legislation on Monday during a bill signing ceremony at a community center in New York's Bronx.

She has done so accompanied by legislators such as the mayor of Buffalo, Byron Brown, the lieutenant governor of New York, Antonio Delgado, the attorney general of New York, Letitia James, and the president of the Assembly of the State of New York, Carl E. Heastie .

The new laws were approved by state lawmakers last week and implement new gun safety regulations, including raising the minimum age to purchase a semi-automatic rifle to 21, expanding the state's "red flag" law that allows courts to confiscate the weapons of anyone determined to be a danger to himself or others, and restricts the sale of bulletproof vests.
