Mexico announces that it will stop exporting oil in 2023 to become self-sufficient

Mexico City, Dec 28 (EFECOM) .- (Camera: Handout) Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), the world's most indebted oil company, announced this Tuesday that it will stop exporting oil in 2023 to fulfill the promise of the country's president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to seek "self-sufficiency" and contain the historical inflation of fuels.

"Practically 100% of Mexican crude will be refined in our country to guarantee fuel supply," Octavio Romero Oropeza, Pemex CEO, announced at a press conference.
