Guadalajara, May 16 (EFE).- Jorge Álvarez Máynez, presidential candidate for the opposition party Movimiento Ciudadano (MC), pledged in Guadalajara that women who choose to terminate a pregnancy will not face criminal charges if he wins Mexico's 2 June presidential election.In Mexico, 12 states have already decriminalised abortion, the latest being Aguascalientes in September 2023.During a rally with young supporters, accompanied by Pablo Lemus, candidate for governor of Jalisco, Álvarez Máynez also reiterated his commitment to decriminalise marijuana use if elected president.
