US MIGRATION CRISIS

"Do not give up", the message of two mothers separated from their children who managed to return to the United States

San Diego (US), March 22 (EFE).- Mexican immigrants Emma Sánchez and Karime Durán do not know each other, but they both share the pain of having been separated for years from their families due to being undocumented and the courage it takes to return to the United States.

STATEMENTS OF EMMA SÁNCHEZ, MEXICAN MIGRANT:

Achieve your dreams, as long as you make an effort and look for help, you can achieve it, always get support from lawyers because these cases are delicate and yes you can, pursue your dreams, fight, always keep your mind busy, study English, if you want to get to what I am doing, because it was hard for me, first I had to learn English and study for the citizenship it took me 5 years, I was stopped by COVID, but here we are after 17 years, 9 months, 16 days, today I have achieved it.

I come with my family, my mother, my children, my husband comes slowly because his knee hurts.

I want to learn to drive, I am going step by step, I want to get my book out too because I was studying, I focused first on citizenship, I wanted to do everything at the same time, study for the driving test and for everything, and it was like a lot, so I said we better go step by step, even if it is slow, and then I want to continue with activism, I want to support, above all I am very interested in the youth, I do not want them to continue growing up like my children, children with separated mothers or fathers, I want united families, I want them to stop separating families.
