"Mental muscle-building", key to Panamanian athletes' preparation for Paris 2024

Panama City, May 8 (EFE).- Undoubtedly, sports have changed a lot in the era of technology, in terms of physical preparation and performance measurements, but beyond being faster and stronger, they must also prepare to be better and stronger mentally and that is when the role of the sports psychologist becomes key.

In Panama, since 2021, the sports psychologist of the Panama Olympic Committee (COP), María Carla Sayavedra, is the one in charge of the “mental muscle-building” work of the Panamanian athletes who are getting ready for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
