Xi meets former Taiwan president Ma in Beijing amid cross-strait tensions

Beijing, Apr 10 (EFE).- Chinese President Xi Jinping met former Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou in Beijing on Wednesday, amid tensions between the two sides.

Ma is known for harboring good relations with China during his tenure between 2008 and 2016.

Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported on Ma’s meeting with the Chinese leader without providing any further details.
