Mario Vargas Llosa awarded highest official decoration by Peruvian president

Lima, Mar 8 (EFE).- Spanish-Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa received Wednesday the Order of the Sun of Peru in the degree of Grand Collar, the highest State decoration, as a 'symbol of recognition and gratitude' of his country, according to President Dina Boluarte's statements at the Government Palace of Lima. TRANSLATION: It is considered an injustice to maintain, as some selfish groups do, a rupture of the constitutional order and of democracy in Peru. Like any democracy, the institutions carry out their tasks, including investigations to punish those who have committed abuses, offenses or crimes, regardless of the positions they hold. This is irrefutable proof that a democratic system continues to prevail in our country.
