A man makes hundreds of solar cookers that will be destined for disadvantaged families in Afghanistan

Kabul (Afghanistan), July 4 (EFE).- Ghulam Abbas is an Afghan man who makes stoves powered by the heat of the sun using basic equipment, which heat water for homes or are used for cooking. His product has attracted attention and Abbas has received orders from all over the country, allowing him to close contracts with an NGO to produce up to 1,200 units this year.

Each solar cooker costs $110 and will be distributed among disadvantaged families in provinces such as Nooristan and Herat. In his workshop he already has 25 employees hired in a project towards self-sufficiency and the use of solar energy, supported by the Taliban government and local companies, thus reviving traditional Afghan practices with modern technological advances.
