Lula reduces deforestation in the Amazon in his first year but keeps his bets on crude oil

Rio de Janeiro, Dec 29 (EFE) - Brazil recorded several environmental advances in the first year of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's third term, such as a sharp drop in deforestation in the Amazon, but environmentalists accuse the government of being contradictory by continuing to bet on increasing and extending oil production.
