EU launch in Quito initiative against deforestation of Amazon rainforest | Video

Quito, Mar 20 (EFE).- European Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries Virginijus Sinkevicius participated on Wednesday in Quito in the launch event of Ukumari, an initiative against the deforestation of the Amazon rainforest, promoted under the Global Gateway initiative of the European Union.

Sinkevicius began a three-day visit to Ecuador on Wednesday, focusing on the protection of the Amazon and the oceans, as well as the commitment of the European bloc to promote energy sustainable development in the Galapagos Islands and in combating marine pollution due to microplastics.
