KENYA FLOODS

Lack of aid during floods that have already left 291 dead in Kenya sparks protests

Nairobi (Kenya), May 16 (EFE/EPA) - The death toll from the devastating floods that have hit Kenya due to torrential rains since mid-March rose to 291, the government confirmed on Thursday, despite the fact that rainfall has been decreasing over the last few days.

To cope with the crisis, Kenya has received international aid from the United Nations, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and organisations such as the Red Cross, either in the form of financial assistance or donations of food and other necessities.
