Kosovo prepares for parliamentary elections

SOUNDBITES OF:

-AVDULLAH HOTI, CANDIDATE FOR PRIME MINISTER, DEMOCRATIC LEAGUE OF KOSOVO (LDK):

"I think that we will win on Sunday, we will end with a powerful victory. We will continue with our policies for European integration, we will end the year with the visa liberalization, we will close the agreement with Serbia with the mutual recognition, as it was confirmed from the newly elected US President, like a present that comes from God, 'here you have our support and let’s go further'. (A few days ago, the US President Joe Biden sent a letter to Serbian President Vucic congratulating him on Serbia’s Independence Day and encouraged him to reach an agreement with Kosovo that should end with mutual recognition.)

-ALBIN KURTI, CANDIDATE FOR PRIME MINISTER, VETEVENDOSJE MOVEMENT:

"Our poor state can’t stand the corrupt and criminals who rob and plunder. Therefore, among the first laws that we will adopt, it is the confiscation of illegal and unjustifiable property.

Our diaspora has already set a record in participating in the elections of February 14th. They have registered and voted, just like the diaspora we must set a record of participation here in Kosovo and, with these two records, we will obtain the big victory with big V, which means 61 lawmakers and more, the majority of citizens – the majority of parliament, a good government, a solid government."
