Kashmir reinforces security ahead of fourth phase of parliamentary elections

Srinagar, India, May 11 (EFE/EPA) - Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, is increasing street security ahead of the fourth phase of elections that will be held on May 13.

Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range, V K Bhirdi, said that a security plan has been put in place ahead of the parliamentary elections in Kashmir and therefore inter-district checks and area domination exercises have been intensified.

The Indian general elections are being held in seven phases until June 1, 2024, and the results will be announced on June 4, 2024.
