UK ASSANGE

Julian Assange does not attend hearing to decide whether he will be extradited to US

London (United Kingdom), May 19 (EFE) - WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is not attending a hearing in London's High Court on Monday to decide whether to authorise his extradition to the United States or allow him to continue his appeal in the UK.

For health reasons, according to his lawyer Edward Fitzgerald, the 52-year-old Australian is not present in person at a hearing at which the British prosecution, on behalf of Washington, and the defence will present their case, before the court delivers its ruling later in the day or at a later date.
