UK ASSANGE

Jeremy Corbyn says Assange decision "not a complete victory"

London (UK), Mar 26 (EFE) - (Camera: Guillermo Garrido) Julian Assange, who has spent almost 14 years in captivity in the United Kingdom, will have to wait several more weeks to know whether he will be extradited to the United States or can appeal his case before the English courts, after the High Court in London decided to postpone its decision and ask for guarantees from Washington.

The court was due to rule on Tuesday on whether to allow the Australian journalist's appeal or give the green light to his extradition to the US, which is seeking him on 18 counts of espionage and computer intrusion through the website he founded, WikiLeaks.

The former leader of the British Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn told EFE today, outside the court gates, that he was "relieved" by this judicial step, which "is not a complete victory because Julian is still in prison", although "we are still here fighting for him".

Corbyn called on people to get out and campaign for Assange anywhere in the world.
