Tokyo, Apr 19 (EFE) - Japan's consumer price index (CPI) rose 2.6% year-on-year in March, the 31st consecutive month of growth in the indicator, which has now been above the Bank of Japan's (BoJ) inflation target of 2% for two years, according to government data released on Friday. The increase in the indicator, which excludes fresh food prices due to their high volatility, shows a slowdown from February's 2.8% year-on-year increase, but is above the 2% rise in the first month of 2024, according to the report prepared by the Statistics Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.CAMERA: FRANCK ROBICHON FOOTAGE OF SHOPS AND A MALL IN TOKYO, JAPAN.
