Japanese yen soars after suspected intervention

Tokyo, May 2 (EFE/EPA).- After US Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's news conference, the exchange rate of Japanese yen against US dollar early on Thursday soared more than four yen from mid-157 yen level to the 153 yen level.

Japanese Vice Finance Minister Masato Kanda has not told whether the government and the Bank of Japan implemented the intervention to the yen and the US currency market or not. (Camera: KIMIMASA MAYAMA).
