Tokyo, May 19 (EFE/EPA).- Japan’s gross domestic product grew 0.5 percent between January and March compared to the previous quarter, marking a second consecutive quarter of positive growth driven by recovering consumption and rising exports.Private consumption, which accounts for around 60 percent of the Japanese economy, expanded by 0.3 percent and recorded its fifth consecutive quarter of growth, according to preliminary data released Tuesday by the Cabinet Office.
