Jan Topic, the former Legionnaire and businessman who became a presidential candidate in Ecuador

Quito, Aug 17 (EFE).- (Camera: Juan Francisco Chávez) Former Legionnaire Jan Topic, who presents himself as a businessman and expert in security, also known as "the Ecuadorian Bukele", has entered into politics with the promise of "an Ecuador without fear" at a time of increasing violence in the country, which the authorities attribute to organized crime and drug trafficking.
