Indonesia's poverty rate decreases in March 2024

Jakarta, Jul 8 (EFE/EPA).- The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted on Monday that the number of poor people in March 2024 had decreased by 0.33 percentage points when compared to March 2023, namely to 9.03 percent from the previous 9.36 percent.

The number of poor people in March 2024 was recorded at 25.22 million people, or 0.68 million lower than in March 2023 which was 25.90 million people. By region, the decline in poverty levels occurred in both urban and rural areas, with the decline in rural areas being greater than urban areas. (Camera: ADI WEDA).
