Indonesians return to Jakarta after Eid al-Fitr celebrations outside capital

Jakarta, Apr 25 (EFE/EPA).- As Eid al-Fitr celebrations come to an end, Indonesian residents were making their way back to the capital, Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Jakarta's Senen train station has seen a surge in activity, with passengers carrying their belongings as they disembark trains from various parts of the country.

This mass movement, commonly known as 'mudik' or 'pulang kampung', is an annual tradition where people travel to their hometowns or ancestral villages to spend the Eid al-Fitr holiday with their families. As the festive period draws to a close, large numbers of Indonesians are now making their way back to the bustling capital to resume their daily routines. (Camera: ADI WEDA).
