Indonesian students continue wearing masks for university entrance exams in post-Covid-19 phase

Depok, May 9 (EFE/EPA).- Despite the world moving into the post-Covid-19 phase, students in Indonesia continued to wear protective masks during a university entrance exam at UPN Veteran University in Depok on Tuesday.

The WHO ended the COVID-19 emergency phase for all countries on May 5, 2023, over three years after its initial declaration. Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, confirmed that the government will follow the WHO's decision.

The decision was made by WHO Secretary General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, following input from the Emergency Committee of International Health Regulations at their 15th virtual meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. (Camera: ADI WEDA).
