Indonesian Constitutional Court rejects challenges to February presidential elections

Jakarta (Indonesia), Apr 22 (EFE/EPA).- The Indonesian Constitutional Court on Monday rejected the challenges against the February 14 presidential elections in which Prabowo Subianto won, presented by two losing candidates, and thus certified the electoral result.

The candidates Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo, who obtained 25 and 16.4% of the ballots, respectively, separately presented complaints to the Indonesian justice system for alleged interference by the current president, Joko Widodo, during the electoral campaign for the benefit of Prabowo, who maintains the position of Defense Minister.
