Latacunga, Feb 9 (EFE).- Ecuador's indigenous movement held its first march on Friday in the Andean province of Cotopaxi against the government of President Daniel Noboa. The protest addressed issues such as insecurity, the transfer of more prisoners to the provincial jail, and the proposal to increase value-added tax (VAT) to reduce the state deficit and finance the "internal armed conflict" declared against organised crime.
