Indigenous Mexicans remember 1998 student massacre

San Cristobal de Las Casas, Oct 2 (EFE).- More than 200 indigenous youths protested this Sunday in southeastern Mexico to commemorate the massacre committed by the state on October 2, 1968, against hundreds of students in the Mexican capital and to demand better education for indigenous peoples.

The young people, dressed in their traditional costumes, marched from the west of the municipality of San Cristóbal de Las Casas, where Mayan, Tzotzil, Tzeltal, Tojolabal, Chol and Zoque indigenous people gathered. (Camera: MITZI FUENTES).
