Indian devotees gather in Srinagar to commemorate Hazrat Ali Martyr's Day

Srinagar, Apr 1 (EFE/EPA).- On the 21st of Ramadan, the Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar, India, witnessed a large gathering of Muslims on Monday to celebrate the Martyr's Day of Hazrat Ali, cousin of Prophet Muhammad.

Hazrat Ali, who was killed more than 1,400 years ago during the holy month of Ramadan, is remembered and honoured with special prayers and ceremonies.

This day, significant for the Muslim community, brings together devotees from various parts of the region to pay their respects and reflect on the virtues of courage, justice and loyalty that Hazrat Ali exemplified. (Camera: FAROOQ KHAN).
