Colombo (Sri Lanka), Jul 2 (EFE/EPA) - More than 28,000 people contracted dengue fever in 2024 as of June, according to the National Dengue Control Unit, and, 37% of the cases were detected in the Western province. Recent heavy rainfall in several parts of Sri Lanka has prompted health authorities to urge people to keep their surroundings clean and eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
