ICC chief prosecutor travels to Khartoum to investigate war crimes in Darfur

Khartoum (Sudan), Aug 24 (EFE), (Camera: Mohnd Awad).- The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, today offered a press conference in Khartoum. Khan is visiting Sudan, where he has held talks about arrest warrants for crimes committed in Darfur, including one issued against ousted President Omar al-Bashir, and has traveled to Darfur to meet with residents of two concentration camps. On August 23, Khan told the UN Security Council that the ICC trial for the Darfur crimes "must be the beginning of true accountability and not a false dawn".
