Hungary does not support the election of top EU officials

Rome (Italy), June 24 (EFE).- The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, assured this Monday in Rome that the election of the main positions of the European Union (EU) is exclusive and based on the interests of the three historical European political families, a process that his country " cannot support."

1.- "We have also talked about the conflict in Ukraine. We know perfectly well that our positions are not always the same. Precisely for this reason I want to say that I very much appreciate the position that Hungary has shown so far both in the European Union and within the framework of the NATO allowing other member states and allies to make very important decisions, even when I did not completely agree with Viktor.

2. "In any case, we have reiterated our unquestionable support for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and together we are looking very carefully at its reconstruction, because obviously the best way to look beyond the war is to imagine a reconstructed Ukraine, which can prosper, which can grow. As you know, Italy is very committed to this, and we will organize the Ukraine recovery conference here in 2025, and we have also talked about this."
